The “Google for Jobs” launch was probably the most important thing to happen in the job board world in 2018. Back then we make it easy for Google to find & list your jobs. We just made some improvements so that Google for Jobs will work like other job boards in JobScore. Here’s what’s new:

1. You can turn Google for Jobs on and off:

Check to add your jobs in the JobScore recruiting software to Google for Jobs for free

2. When turned on, Google displays your jobs with an “Apply on JobScore” option:

An apply on JobScore button is shown on your job posting on Google for Jobs

3. When job seekers choose this option, the candidate source is pre-populated in the job application form:

Track google for jobs as a candidate source in your ats

4. JobScore reports on how many candidates you get directly from Google in the source quality report:

Track google for jobs performance on the JobScore source quality report

All this makes it easier to track Google for Jobs as a candidate source and see how it performs compared to other job sites. It’s important to remember, however, that Google for Jobs also provides the option to apply on LinkedIn, Glassdoor and other job sites, so some of the candidates attributed to those job sites may in fact originate from Google.

Google For Jobs is included in all JobScore plans.

Happy Hiring!

Remote work has been on the rise for years. In the COVID-19 pandemic, “shelter-in-place” is the new normal for many people, so it’s more important than ever to make it clear if your jobs allow people to work from home. So, we’ve made it even easier to attract and hire remote workers using JobScore. Here’s what’s new:

Choose whether remote work is supported for each job

When you add or edit a job there’s now a “remote work” control:

Add jobs for remote workers

When you select “yes” JobScore will:

Control how remote locations are shown

JobScore also allows you to control how remote jobs are shown to both job seekers on your careers site and your employees as locations in JobScore.

Attract job seekers for remote jobs

Complete details on your options for setting up remote locations can be found in the JobScore helpcenter article about jobs with no location.

Buy postings on the WeWorkRemotely job board

On the post job page you can now buy a posting on WeWorkRemotely. Several of our customers have reported that this site “just works” for remote jobs. Give it a try if are looking for more qualified candidate pipeline for a remote job:

What’s next?

Our team is busy coding up integrations to add video conference links from Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and more to your interviews. Stay tuned!

Stay safe, stay healthy & happy hiring!

JobScore has always prompted you to enter information when you change a job’s status to FILLED. But when you OPEN, CLOSE or put a job ON HOLD sometimes you need to do a few things as well.

We just launched a new feature that prompts you to perform relevant actions when you change a job’s status. For example:

  • When you change a job’s status from DRAFT to OPEN, JobScore will ask you if you want to notify assigned search firms they can submit candidates.
  • When you change a job’s status from OPEN to CLOSED, JobScore will ask if you want to remove paid job board postings, notify search firms they can no longer submit candidates, and notify active candidates that the job is no longer OPEN.

Here’s what the transition screen looks like when you CLOSE a job:

Don’t want to do one of the suggested actions? No problem, just uncheck the box.

These changes mean fewer things for you to remember, which will hopefully free up your mind to improve your recruiting in other ways.
